Well the last snow apocalypse was kind of a nonevent. We were supposed to get up to 16 inches of snow and instead got something around 6 or 8 inches. Unlike Atlanta the only thing that happened here was the schools were closed and the speed limit on the turnpike was down to 45.
I went out to Little Dogs for coffee with Gary. We always have a good time talking and laughing and joking and watching the college girls come in for their coffee and leave, occasionally amazed at the bravery they show by what they're wearing. It was cooold. And some of them were in skirts.
Then it was up to 'Salem's Lot to clear the folks driveway. Easy work. The snow was light and fluffy and ready to get out of the driveway. It takes far too long to clear that drive - just the way it is laid out. My feet were tired. i don't think my snow boots have much arch support.
I'm still a bit behind on the QSO-680 class. All I have to do is pass.
I watched Karla on Netflix last night. That movie pissed me off more than I can describe. It was about the Karla Homolka who assisted her serial rapist and serial killer husband murder three teenage girls (including her own sister) and did 12 years. She wasn't just there, she was an active participant - but because of the pantywaist Canadian justice system she is now in the French Antilles popping out future sociopaths. Good job, Canada.
The total number of victims of her husband has never been determined.
There is no death penalty in Canada. There is no death penalty in New England. If Ted Bundy had been arrested in Canada he wouldn't be extradited. If he had been arrested in New England he might be living across the street. Because you know, we're all kinder and gentler up here. Thank God for Washington, Texas and Florida.
There is a reason for the death penalty. Or at least life without the possibility of parole (which Karla Homolka got, and was free after 12 years - again good job, Canada)
I thought I had found a new series to watch. Killer Women.
Tricia Helfer playing a Texas Ranger who tracks down bad girls. I was sold at the first scene when Nadine Valesquez was shown from behind in a tight red dress and heels standing in front of a church.
After I finished swallowing my tongue I watched. Too bad it got such bad reviews among the "younger" demographic that the series will only be six episodes. Damn! You mean I'm stuck with the Walking Dead for the rest of the winter?
I've had a thing for Tricia since last year when I marathon-watched Battlestar Gallactica. Caprica Six is burned into my retina.
Since I already did my OD grieving I didn't think much of the DMs final kissoff.
Literally the last thing I did on OD was to go save my Photobucket link,
Now I have two huge text files and not much context. Earlier in the week I did go back and reminisce. I realized that every now and again i can string a few words together.
Maybe someday I'll edit out all the HTML and extraneous crap to start my memoirs. Or not. For the most part the notes were as much or more important than the entries. I've got those as well.
