Can’tcha Say in General

I stink of cordite and sweat. My head and shoulders (sounds like a shampoo) are burned. Dumb move, Duke. The Boony hat was right there in the car and the beach bag was in the trunk. I have enough sunscreen to cover fifty people for a week.

I am going to pay for my stupidity.

Since I am right handed, my right ear is closer to the rifle. For the last five hours I have been hearing tea cup on china sounds in my right ear. I had earplugs in. Apparently the one on the right didn’t set.

Fuck. Getting older sucks.

Picked up a steak. And a potato. And jalapenos. Said potato is in the oven. Closing in on time to fire up the grill.

After a week of perfect weather, things slide off the plate for a few days. If you get too much beautiful, you cease to appreciate it. Old New England saying.

Actually I just made that up.

I saw Marcus Lattrell on the news this morning so when I came home I watched “Sole Survivor” again.

In the first minute of the movie a quote got to me. “Find a reason to win.”

You got that right, brother.

• Apparently I am going to breakfast in the morning. First time in a while.

And Laura is on my mind. God I hate the way my mind works. I don’t even truly know if she is interested. But she bangs around in my head like a bowling ball.

Same as it ever was. I go from one obsession to the next. Some of my obsessions last longer than others.

I just sneezed 27 times in a row. That has to be a record. Friggin pine pollen.
