Open Diary is shutting down in a little less than an hour. I started mine in 2004, while a senior in high school, after a devastating, horrible breakup. A friend recommended it to me, thinking that getting my feelings out on paper and having a community of people to give advice and support would help. It did, tremendously. I made many great friends through the site, and I will be forever grateful for that.
It makes me sad how much of my life and memories are/were tied up in Open Diary. Boyfriends, disasters, my tumultuous relationship with my mother, my first marriage.....and divorce.....my second marriage, and so on.
I hope that this site will bring me together with new people and new friends. It'll be fun to restart my diary life and be able to purge myself sometimes lol.
