Downtown Sedalia Colorado Northbound Main 2 in Tales of the Jointed Track

Sedalia proper isn’t that big. Manhart Street is “Main Street”.

Looking west on the northbound (Main 2), from the Manhart Street Crossing. Looking Northwest at Manhart Street. The south switch has been removed. if you look to the left a relay box and the “elevated” silver rectangle. That’s where the switch used to be. The siding at one time extended south of here by 500 ft. The other track to the right is what is left of the Sedalia House Track. The Rectangle sign ids the Station sign for Sedalia. If you had a track warrant that said proceed Palmer Lake to Sedalia. That sign is the end of your track authority, until another warrant was issued.

This is a Quiet Zone (QZ)..the bell is rung, no whistle sounded unless in emergency or passing men and equipment. The red building is a Biker bar. We used to get titty flashes as we went through town..LOL Also the Bar provided shots (free) for every train that passed. I am sure it was not your premium choice.
