It's official: I have had enough of winter in Just the ordinary things

Yesterday's snow left some, but not a lot of snow. We were not hit like the City was. Then there's to be another one either tonight or tomorrow, and we're supposed to get clobbered. To say that I am not thrilled is an understatement. Winter makes my joints ache.

I get to see the psychiatrist again on Thursday. He's put me on a new medication, and to be honest I don't like it much. It's leaving me feeling dopey and lethargic all the time, so I am going to ask him to drop it.

I am enjoying Downton Abbey this season. There's been a lot of controversy about one scene, many fans are very upset at what happened, but at least they didn't do it as a gratutitous scene, thank goodness. The heartache in it is well, it's enough to make you weep.

Finished The Luminaries the other evening, and got the review up. I have very mixed feelings about it -- the writing is very good in spots, but there are some serious problems to the book as well. Over twenty characters to keep track of. Constant shifts in time. A really stupid use of astrology to make a cute 'let's tie it all together' -- how the author did it is utter crap if you're an actual astrologer. Just trust me on this one.

Just finished Lion in the Valley, fourth in the Amelia Peabody series. Now I am reading Thief of Time by Terry Pratchett.
