I don't allow the childminded kids use of felt pens as the lids never get put back on and the pens runs out. It cost me a lot in replacement pens. So when a childminded child told me, this morning, that my large collection of crayons - both wax and pencil - weren't good enough and she wanted felt pens it really didn't help having my five year old daughter say "we have felt pens upstairs but only me and tally are allowed to use them."

This child stood looking at me, reproachfullness emanating from every pore.

Bloody one upping kids eh?

Day two of the declutter starts today. The other half of the living room and hopefully a start on upstairs.

Have a good day!

Humm... If she's a rascal she might sneak upstairs and try to find them!

Good work! :-)

I think it's good to have those rules and some things just for your girls, but ya, the one up thing gets old with kids fast, have fun decluttering, have a good day! hugs!

The girls only have markets because aunt bought them some. They weren't allowed before because they wrote on things! And now they're hard on them and when they're gone, they're gone... Although they're better with them than u would have given them credit for.

I. Better that *I would have given them credit for.

Can you ask said child's mother to provide the requested pens, as they are a "special request"? That way when the lids get left off and the pens go dry it can be the mother's issue and not yours. Just a thought. :)

Lol.. Childhood dramas and injustices.

Maybe explain to your two that time and home is divided into two environments: home and work. What happens during the home time is shared family time and the activities during the 'work time' is caring for others outside the family. Meaning that 'family time' is more (for them only). Good luck with that de-cluttering. ~A~

Oh great. As one of your previous comments implied -- she will learn that not everything will be handed to her!

Good luck continuing with your decluttering mission!
