It’s one of the few pleasentries of the modern world that we’ve found time as a culture to take a serious look at how we perceive sexuality and identity.

I mean we have a few thousand years of documented history that have been locked into a rigid binary structure and although this discussion has flared up all manner of reactionary bigottry and the odd subsequate militancy from people who feel oppressed and maligned, it has in general been a amazing social development and one of of few truly self aware and inwardly looking social developments. One which has allowed people to look at our boundaries, try to understand how those assumpitions affect them and then break them, remake them and truly expore who they are as individuals and who we are as a society.

Sure, a lot of it slips into single focus IDPOL, or bourgois liberalism but a lot of it is very militant, Anarchic and socialist in it’s very existance, but to be honest what I love about this entire thing most of all is that there has been a need to discover new words and concepts and although you do find scientic-esk terms like “demi-romantic” and “non binary” the memetic growth and rather ecclectic nature of people has also seen acceptance of terms like “squish” and “zuccinni” and all manner of colourful language to describe personal traits or modes of inter-relations.

Some people would rather we kept an pragmatic or utilitarian attitude and not bother breaking down these things or they feel that excessive “labelling” and codification is something to frown upon… but to be honest I kind of find it appalling that we have a thousand catagories for Metal music alone and yet have spent pretty much forever with only a handful of ways to referance what some is to you… “friend”, “best friend” , “partner” etc or how your sexuality profects itself “gay” or “straight” and now we have a plethora of language with which to express ourselves with nuance or some of the terms are increadably adorable.

So IDK look into it.. coz to sometimes you say you like “rock music” but when you with tight peeps you know you say “I move between digital hardcore and electro horror at the moment but I’ve been getting into psychobilly alot recent” and who knows perhaps it’s not the only aspect of your character with more to it.... maybe you have a squish or two and you don’t even know it ;p
