Seattle dumped on Denver yesterday evening. It stopped for a brief break and then somehow managed to dump on the East Coast. I thought that was a little much after we had been such a good Host. I left my house this morning about 7;30 AM and arrived at work just before 8 AM. The roads at this time were still unplowed. I watched a pickup truck spin out sideways and go through an intersection broadside. Amazingly the driver corrected and straightened his vehicle without hitting a curb, a tree of another vehicle. Since the series of recent snows began I was a little afraid of the stability of the Camaro in snow but I learned if she was treated with respect she responded with great performance. Noontime my son sent me home. Now the streets were in much worst shape but by keeping to 25 MPH I managed to get home without incident. It has continued to snow but at a declining rate. Hopefully it will end soon. Now for my dilemma about later tonight. At 7 PM I should be a my Group's Meeting hall getting the coffee ready for tonight's Meeting. Alcoholics take an inordinate pride in uttering the phrase " I would have gotten out to drink in this weather " and people will show self-righteously expecting us to be there , open and welcoming . Well this evening I to be the " Hand of AA " and if they come looking it will be there. Boy, do I sound self righteous and full of myself. I guess I am but every time I look at my life now and compare it to what it was before I came into AA. I do feel I must do all that is possible to pass it on.
