Things I got done on Saturday.

Got up around 7, organised child, gave dragon birthday presents, took family out for breakfast and shopping at Tesco.

Visited post office on way home to pick up two parcels from family overseas, which arrived while we were out this week.

Looked in antique shop for furniture for newly decorated dining room. Cut a deal with proprietor for a bureau and wooden chest, £180.

Chest

Bureau

Returned home just in time to catch postman and avoid another missed parcel. It was the part I needed to mend washing machine, hooray.

Replaced heating element in washing machine, very successful repair.

That's the old heating element I'm holding there of course.

Returned to antique shop with car seats folded down to pick up bureau and chest. Then back home to install bureau and chest.

Boy and bureau installed.

Took boy out to Toys Are Us to spend some of his red envelope money from Chinese New Year. Dropped dragon at art shop en route.

Exited Toys Are Us 30 minutes later with Lego, Hotwheels, and happy son.

Picked dragon up from art shop again.

Stopped at Pig on the Hill pub for a sandwich. I did not consume alcohol.

Flying visit to bank to pick up cash for red envelopes for kids at CNY party tomorrow, see below.

Washed car at Sainsbury's car wash.

Returned home for cup of afternoon tea. Played two games of Labyrinth with son, lost both of them. Watched episode of Ben 10 Alien Force.

Showered with boy and washed his hair.

Ate dinner with wife and son, stewed pork and rice, very nice. Incidentally, I have lost 1.5kg this week, just saying.

Bedtime story, washing dishes, return to supermarket for forgotten sugar and milk.

Back home to find dragon making food for CNY party tomorrow.

Went upstairs to source air tickets to Taiwan at Easter. That was an expensive 30 minutes!

Decided to make a list of stuff I have done today, now 10:30 pm.

Fell asleep around midnight reading Sherlock Holmes.

Woke with a start at around 12:15am due to screaming dragon who claimed to have seen a mouse the size of a Bengal tiger in the kitchen.

Set mouse trap in kitchen, returned to bed.

This weekend's Chinese New Year celebrations.

Lots of cooking and eating...

Decorating...

Red envelopes.

I expect to have more and better pictures of Chinese New Year party very soon.
