So I’ve been kinda nostalgic today, thinking about the day I met Randy aka Sugarbear. I can’t believe it’s been 3 years! We actually met online on POF. I was so nervous about online dating. I had actually already agreed to go out with this other guy so I didn’t respond to Randy’s 1st message. I remember seeing his picture and thinking I wished I had seen his message first. But I’m not the kind of person who likes dating more than one guy at a time. And Randy was about to give up on POF, but he messaged me again a few weeks later. Thank God! We met at a bowling ally called “The Ally” downtown. It was old school too, no automatic scorers or anything. I was actually a few minutes late for the date cause I couldn’t find parking. And I’m NEVER late. I was freaking out. Luckily he waited and when we finally met he looked like his picture so I took that as a good sign. We had no clue how to score on the little card they gave us. We annoyed the crap out of the shoe rental guy asking him scoring questions. In the middle of the game during one of my turns I come back to my seat and find tulips by my purse. He was too nervous to hand them directly to me. I thought it was cute. We just had so much fun! We had met around 3:00 and just ended up talking, and talking.....and talking some more. We talked about everything. I mean everything. Even the stuff they say you shouldn’t talk about on a first date, like exes or politics or religion. We eventually went next door to a Chinese restaurant that was open late. An old friend of his came in the restaurant drunk and trying to talk to this girl. Of coarse he recognized Randy. He came over to say ‘hi’ and asked if I was Randy’s girl and saying I was cute. Randy tried to tell him it was our first date. Randy was so embarrassed he wanted to melt through the floor, poor guy. It didn’t bother me though. I just laughed it off. By the time we walked to our cars it was around 11:00 at night. I’d missed a bunch of calls from my mom (probably wondering if I’d gotten kidnapped or something) and he’d missed a bunch of calls from his brother in law wondering where he was. But we couldn’t wait to see each other again. And the adventures haven’t stopped since! But that’s enough reminiscing for one night. Until next time.
