Weight Loss tracker in Fitness and Exercise

I’ve been doing the 5:2 diet for six weeks now and here are my stats. I lost weight in the first four weeks but I don’t seem to have lost anything at all for the last two weeks. I wish I had more time to do some exercise; at the moment all I’m doing is going for a one mile walk in my lunch break and I’m only doing about 6,000 steps a day.

Start weight: 11st 12lb / 166lb / 75.5kg
Waist: 36 inches

Current weight: 11st 4lb / 158lb / 72 kg
Current waist: 34 inches

Target weight: 9st 10lb / 136lb / 62kg
Target waist: 29 inches

Weight loss: 8lb / 3.5kg
Inch loss: 2 inches

Weight loss needed to get to target: 1st 8lb / 22lb / 10kg
Inches to lose on waist: 5 inches

Losing only 8lb in six weeks doesn’t seem like an awful lot, but at least it’s going in the right direction, albeit very slowly.

Well slow is what stays off isn't it??

Well if that's true, that's good news :o)

Slow and steady wins the race! It's about building habits so that when you get to your target weight you can maintain it.
It might cheer you up to know that 9st 10 is 61kg, so only 11 to lose, not 15. See, instant progress!

Oh weird, I had got the "amount to lose" right, so I have no idea why I put down that it's 57kg!

Yep, this diet has changed my habits. In the modern world, we're used to having access to food all the time so we're all used to having full bellies. So, when we're not full, we think we're hungry and complain about it. Being on the 5:2 diet has got me used to the feeling of an empty stomach, which isn't as unpleasant as it used to be. So I'm reaching for the snacks than I used to, even on non-fasting days.

I like the Japanese approach: eat until you're no longer hungry, not until you're full. It's all a bit wrong in this country, as a nation we've developed some strange eating habits. It's tough to break through that socialisation but when you do it's so easy to maintain.

I've read that your body has maintenance calories, it's sort of an average that it needs to keep you at your current weight. It takes a little time to change which may be why you're seeing a little slow down but stick to it! I'm having the exact same issue! Slow and steady wins the race and all that jazz!
