When you open a Book here, it doesn't tell anyone that you've written anything. Until you write an entry like this one, no one knows you have said anything.
Well, I pretty much said it in my Book A matter of introduction
I have just spent an hour going through the 1452 names here looking for OD friends. I found a few of you and have Bookmarked (which is not what you think it is) and Friended (which I have not idea what to think it is).
As I see it a bookmark will only hold for the most recent entry you have bookmarked. It does not give you a list of those writers whom you might want to read regularly.
And the Friends thing. Well, there is no provision to write for friends only and there is no list. I guess it's a symbolic thing.
It will take some getting used to here. But as an emergency place for old friends, it will do just in case.
