C and I had a lot of talks over the past couple weeks. We decided Saturday that we could fit a crib in the boys’ bedroom, since they really only sleep in there during the day and that’s it. So yesterday we assembled the crib, and today we notified our agency that we were able to foster, as long as we could restrict the ages down to up to 18 months only. And we have to limit placements to boys, since G is 5 and sleeps in that room as well.

We got back on the active list at noon today. At 3:45 we got a call about a one year old boy. Sounded like a sad situation, we said we would take him. They went with another family, which we expected. Still disappointing. But the right situation will come along when it’s right for everyone.

My heart couldn’t bear to get calls like this every other day. That’s too many babies in the system. Babies are so easy to love, and yet we are still failing them.
