1) I’m gonna be a grandma!!!! WOO HOO!!! My #2 son, dear, darling Fred and his wife are having a baby! I never knew how much I wanted to be a grandma until I found out that I was going to be one! They live out of state but we now have an excellent vacation spot and another reason to visit.

They know they are having a baby boy so I already bought him a teeny, tiny, Chicago Blackhawks jersey.

2) My BFF’s dad did pass away and it was so sad and I couldn’t get to the wake or funeral because it was out of town and her mom is having a VERY hard time living life without her hubs. They were married for 65 years.

3) My moms oldest friend whose daughter was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in June, had very radical surgery and even more radical treatment. She needed to be hospitalized for five days every 9 days for chemo and radiation. After the 4th round of chemo, they did a scan and found that in spite of these treatments, the cancer had spread to her lungs and she had developed pneumonia. As of Tuesday, they stopped all treatment and she is in hospice. Devastating news.

4) This wild and whacky place that I call work is just growing like crazy. We have so many children! The noise level is insane and I am loving every minute of it.

5) Mom, Stooge #2 and I are leaving for my BIG,BIG birthday trip to Las Vegas in 8 weeks. Excited does not begin to explain how I feel.

6) Before said birthday trip, Mom, Princess and I are hosting a baby shower for the new wee one. We are flying the kids in for a long weekend and hopefully, sending them home with tons of stuff. Her family is having a shower the day after ours so hopefully, they will get everything they need.
