I don’t think it means what you think it does.
You made a request that you knew was supposed to be denied. You allege that you know others who have made the request were denied (FALSE). And instead of being denied, you were offered a window of opportunity, as well as a procedure to follow in order for your request to be granted.
Yes, that’s right, a PROCEDURE. One that was meant to set you up for success. How dare me, right? So instead you decide to go over my head and bitch that you were being “singled out,” all because you were offered a different outcome than these non-existent others. And you demand that your request be granted sans procedure to make up for this “singling out.” Because heaven forbid you be treated differently (from no one) by being offered a favor. But I have to say that if your complaint is about being singled out, then the way to fix it is probably NOT to set yourself even further apart from your perceived other people.
Side note - I’m not sure if it’s even possible to be singled out when you’re the only one dumb enough to make this request.
For your sake, I hope I have this picture wrong. Otherwise you’ll regret this meeting you insisted on.
But THANK YOU for reminding me not to do anyone any favors. Can we say Triggered Snowflake?
