Poem: Away in Creative Writing

Shallow breaths fades into the darkness –
Hidden away and almost napping;
Muddled by the breeze through the bushes
And the soft sounds of water lapping.

Peering between the leaves,
Musing the warm moonlight;
Seeing steady ripples
From the lakeside embankment’s height.

A head trip to let go of this day
Is longed for with faint whining;
But a burden of pride prevents reward
Regardless of one’s pining.

The day will pass
And the feeling will subside.
But, alone tonight, staring
I’ll wash it from my mind.
