For about a week I have been feeding a Feral cat. This is a big survivor cat who has lived on the mean streets of Sea Bright for about 5 years and has the scars to show for it. One of my neighbors had been looking out for it but the neighbor moved. I had vaguely been aware of the animal for some time so last week I started feeding it. First I went with canned cat food that immediately froze into a solid block. Duh !!!!! I posted on OD this elaborate story of making a shelter for it from an old computer box and loved the idea but very few suspected it was imaginary. This cat would spurn the box as it has its own system.
Today as I filled the bowl with dry food I watched from inside as about a dozen birds crashed the dinner party. If the cat had been around it could have had a good hot meal. I can tell by the footprints in the snow that the cat does feed from the bowl.
I wonder if anyone else still posts back at OD. Georgette says I am the only. What a pleasure it is to go there now as the loss of use has sped up the sites response time. I intend to stay there to the bitter end.
