Back from holiday! in Hello.

Our holiday was wonderful. Perfect I’d say. We stayed in a holiday cottage in Northumbria and did something different every day.
Sunday we drove to Newton and walked/played/napped on the beach to Dunstanburgh castle then walked back via the dunes.
Monday we walked from the cottage, along St Cuthbert’s way to St Cuthbert’s cave, exploring some interesting boulders on the way back.
Tuesday we went to Warkworth Castle to watch some knights reenact fighting techniques, listen to a medieval music troupe and met up with an old school friend who happened to be holidaying in the area. That was my favourite day!
Wednesday we drove over the sea to Lindisfarne, where the vikings first invaded. I had a bit of a geek out in the abbey ruins and said “shield wall” enough times to annoy John.
Thursday Eleanor and I took a boat trip to the Farne Islands. Sadly we didn’t see any puffins. John and Bel stayed in Seahouses and explored the shops.
Friday we went to Alnwick Castle and gardens, where a lot of Harry Potter was filmed. That was fun.
Saturday we came home via Kielder forest, inadvertently ended up in an agricultural machinery parade in Scotland and did some shopping in Carlisle.
I feel like I need a rest to get over it, haha!
