Standing Helpless

Please don’t tell me that you’re broken,
Please don’t tell me that you’re gone.
Please don’t tell me that I’m helpless,
Please don’t tell me that I’m wrong.

Staring blindly in the darkness
Reaching for washed-out walls –
Even with your pale complection,
Heart still tripping, yes it falls.

Anxious for some new beginning,
Silent for our humbles sake.
Take to heart my lonely posture
And do not love mean to fake.

Now between those static heartbeats,
Back through the kitchen door.
Tis’ you I long to hold near,
It’s you forevermore.
