Drag The Bottom

Drag the bottom of the lake
And find the love I left there.
Replace the heart I let you take
So I can walk away, free and clear.

Drag that bottom of the lake
To find the trinkets that define me.
Surface them, gather your take,
To see them brings back the memory.

I can’t see the lake anymore
As it’s distant from my mind –
I cower in my comfort zone
Trying to be blind.

Drag the bottom of the lake,
Find that soul I lost.
Unite me with my phantom fake;
Bring me reality no matter the cost.

Drag the bottom of the lake –
To the faceless, this favor I impart:
Drive to my heart the dirty stake
Returning me to the lake to depart.
