December.

Silence wedges deeper into my veins
As the thought of speaking dwindles.
Flaunting legends often wane
But thoughts of you rekindle.

Shrouded feathers
And touted scenes
Shrink me into submission –
Today I’ll shine
In this light of mine
And to the heavens seek remission.

Lightning crests
To the ominous West
While encouraging me to continue;
Blinded by
This lullabye
I’ll sleep soundly within you.
