A Change Coming On
You say I’ve changed
And lost my way.
You say I’m different
From who I was yesterday.
You used to play along
And be challenged by my verse,
But lately I’ve been writing lonely
And taunted by the lyricly perverse.
The fiercest losses Bring those to be forgotten; While a charmed winner Sweeps away the begotten.
Melancholy words may be the cause;
Or the wreckless abandon of my inner flaws.
The future might bring me ‘round again
Or might leave me silenced, alone, without friends.
