Willed Strength
A deafened tone,
Another missed –
Her voice is gone
For now, I’m mixed.
In time she’ll visit;
In time she’ll grace
Tonight she’ll cry
With tear-stained face.
She’ll look at the stars
With a heart that is heavy –
But still feel loved,
Waiting and ready.
Tomorrow anew,
And with brisking sun;
But today rain showers
And some friendly fun.
We left her unpacked,
Down the hall from a Beth;
We left her longing
In her room with Steph.
In my prayers she’ll be
Right next to my mom –
Goodwill to my friend;
God willing her strong.

This is for my friend Megan. I know I didn’t give
her any presents or anything like that. She had all
that she needed but I think maybe what she needed most
was a shoulder to lay, an ear that would listen and a
heart that cared to give her the strength she needed to
tackle her new undertaking in college. I was there once,
but by myself, and wish her all the strength in the
world – she’ll need it.
hugs to Megan
