Bring Rest

With silent remorse
I compress the day away.
Seeking condolence;
Seeking rest on this day.

The evening dove’s coos
Frighten even the shadows
From their posts behind;
Leaving shallow fancies on the gallows
And only happiness in mind.

Dreams to embark; Looking in part
For a majestic beginning in play.
I’ll be seeking for ‘morrow
When night slips to harrow
And bring forth a new day.
