I Call On You
Walking blindly
Hope unfurled
Happiness startles me
From my nest, hurled.
I believe that one day
I’ll find the cure for this plague.
I’m still looking for clarity;
In the world of the vague.
Invisible to my eyes
But strong in my mind;
Your presence in spirit
Is the cure for the blind.
Grasp my hand.
Lead the way.
Show me some direction
On this winding pathway.
If we fall,
Let us fall together
Let us navigate tortured seas
Through dark and stormy weather.
Reaching out once again
For guidance from above –
Scanning the stars
For distant love.
Seeking forth
Searching dismantled memories;
Memories long torched
And buriend ‘neath obscenity.
Maybe the sun can come down
And bring some rays of hope
So that together we’ll remain strong
And give me lyrics to this trope.
In song I bask
While awaiting distant peace
To be repossessed
From my overdue literary lease.
