Run

Run along
By the river;
Hold your breath
Until you quiver.
   Race heartedly into tomorrow.

Run a ring
Around the fire.
Don’t get burnt!
Run to retire.
   Run away from poignant sorrow.

Run the gauntlet
Of lost hope;
Forever knowing
That you’ll have to cope.
   Run away into tomorrow.
