I Want To Be A Dream

I want to be the dream
That your eyes only faintly remember.
I want it to be so real
That you believe that I’m there.

I want to be the dream
That beckons your eyes to remain closed.
I want it to feel
Like I’m breathing in your ear.

I want to be the dream
That you can’t describe
But know how it feels.
I want it to thread you.

I want to be the dream
That you talk about tomorrow.
I want it to be the one thing
That pulls you from your sorrow.

Why can’t I just BE your dream?
