Solidify

In your heart,
Alone and bare.
Solidly I hold for you;
I wait for you there.

When shadows pass
Covering the daytime sun,
You see things within me –
Hiding from ruin.

Hushed, sacred dreams
Pushing harder at the surface.
Pressing forth to be solified
Under an umbrella of disgrace.
    Disgraced without fortitude;
    Foresight of myself.

Swallows of pride
Bring me to my limits
In mouthfuls at a time –
Brought back with interest.

I am the sky
As the wind blows harder;
And the lightning stifles
The children’s “coo’s“.

The sky only holds reality
While never freeing
This frozen servitude
Or alluding –
    something better.
