April Showers II
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With rain softly beating down
My mind is not within this town.
Alone and cold and washed inside;
April’s showers push to hide.
Alone in bed deep in the night
We push away loneliness in a rigid fight.
We know we’ll be together soon;
Perhaps tomorrow or Tuesday afternoon.
Although we know the time will come
When we’ll be together, not far from;
The sadness still sets in harsh ways
And drags us down on beautiful days.
We will push forward through those nights
Till the next time we can hold on tight.
In the meantime we can just pray
That April’s showers can bring on May.
