Thinking myself in a hole
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I pray to lay my head in a hole;
Not in body but in thought.
My plagues would disperse in soil
And my mind would be left distraught.
Why do I pledge and plea
For such a happening to come to me –
To clear my head of all that’s there
And to set my thoughts free?
Cold and shaking I turn to the bed
Indifferent to loss of time and space.
While I keep myself from getting ahead –
I enjoy what I have and maintain haste.
Here I stand awaiting my sleep
Too tired to feel, too tired to weep.
Just when I thought I was on a roll
I was just thinking myself down in a hole.
