Soaking Wet
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She stands in the darkness
Clutching her dreams.
She looks ahead brightly
Tugging at her seams.
Aspirations of greatness
Filter through her head
While parents drone upon her
And drive her from her bed.
In the morning she awakes
To embark on another day
But finds herself alone at heart
And searching for her way.
Alone in spirit;
But kindred to light
She opens up her nightshades
To let in the solemn night.
Her cries in the darkness
Alone and by herself;
Can only be heard by her
And her photos on her shelf.
When the tears go away,
Sleep sets right in.
She drifts into nothingness
With dreams until she awakes again.
The sun comes up,
Leaving her soaking wet.
Leaving herself open
To the secrets she has met.
Her fronts are deep set-in
Just as her morals are deep breed-in.
She hides her intelligence
To maintain her haven.
Soaking Wet she leaps.
Soaking Wet she breathes.
Soaking Wet she dances.
Soaking Wet she leaves.
