Let Go

Let go of the past
Move yourself into the future.
S’okay to remember the good things
But don’t let it linger.

Passing memories of times had
Stick firmly in your being.
Keep in mind that the damage is
Done and don’t search for meaning.

Hurt will emcompass you as you try to let go.
Sadness will envelop you as you try to not know.

One day it will all be well and good
And a smile will cross your face.
You’ll wake up in the morning
And out of a slumbering embrace.

The tears will subside
And hurt will annoint.
You’ll feel true happiness again,
And you’ll see my point.

If you live your life in the past,
You’ll never let go.
You’ll never smile again,
And happiness you’ll never know.

Look to the future and pray for forgiveness.
Look inwardly and blossom in your newfound bliss.

Let go of the past to find the way
To newfound happiness every day.
