Feelin' Good about Things! or not! in A New Beginning

My sister Carol is feeling much more like herself again. I went over to visit this morning and her daughter/my niece Stef was there too. We did a lot of light-hearted talking and reminiscing and laughing about various things, and it was fun going out for brunch to Bob Evans. She doesn’t really seem reluctant to go to Rehoboth and walk the boardwalk with me and Sandy this week. It’s just that she worries that others might be slowed down by her walking slower than they do. I told her we don’t mind walking slower! Or if Sandy wants to walk faster to get exercise, I sure don’t mind walking slow with Carol or stopping to sit on a bench with her. Shoot! I don’t mind at all; I just wanna spend time with my sister! I know she won’t be around forever. I want to spend time with her even if we ever have to just sit! I’ve always been very good at that. Not “just sitting”.....I mean, good at spending a lot of time with people who can’t do very much. I don’t think of myself as a very patient person, but that is a kind of patience that I have.

My ass has been hurting with the sciatica pain again, and my hip and lower leg. But thank goodness those hamstring stretches Joe taught me have been holding that other, back-of-thigh pain at bay! Ages ago, Wendy brought me a wedge-shaped cushion which, up ‘til yesterday, I never used. But I have started using it and it is a lot more comfortable. I am going to a class tomorrow afternoon and I will take it, if I remember to. :o)

Joe got our pool set up and filled yesterday!! Whoopiiiiieeeee!!!!! We just have one of those blue ones; I think it’s 16’ around or maybe just 12’. It’s three feet deep; plenty big enough to get cool and relax in, or have fun in. Of course right now the water in it is C-O-L-D! I am not going in it for a few days, at least not to sit! But I sure am looking forward to it!

Tomorrow he and Joey are going to dismantle our old deck and put up a new one. We sure need one! Guinness’s cord is always getting caught someway-or-other on the old one.

So! Joe and Joey are out front working on the deck. It is less hot today!! Much less, at least so far!! So....wonder of wonders....they took Guinness out with them. He is in the shade, with a big water bowl. I AM GETTING SOME TIME OFF! :o) But I just put some chicken tenders in the oven for myself; it takes them twenty minutes to heat up so I just have a feeling they will bring him in in about twenty minutes. It’s ok; I am enjoying the time to myself right NOW, anyhow. :o)

I had signed up to attend a class at 4 this afternoon, back BEFORE my stupid sciatica started being a damn pain in my ass again. So whether I go depends on how my ass and leg feel around 3:15-ish. Right when I thought I could actually plan to do things too!
