Thanks for all of your comments. It is nice to know you are out there as you always were.

My singing group the Skylarkers got together with some yummy food and lots of laughs. It was the last meeting before we take our June/July break.
We are booked out from the last week in July all the way through until Christmas. Jenny, our booking gal has even booked us in for next year to 4 new venues.

Our last show was just fantastic. It was down at Lynden Retirement Centre in Camberwell. What a snazzy place it turned out to be.
We started off with about 30 in the audience and ended up with 80 odd and they loved it. We had so many come up to us afterwards and shower us with compliments, so that we left there on a high.

I am so proud of the group. Their energy and showmanship has grown so much that they are now accomplished performers.
When I took over as Artistic Director, they used to just stand with their hands down by their sides, open their mouths and sing.
There was very little pizzazz in their performance at all. But slowly and surely as I workshopped them and encouraged performance out of them, the dynamic changed, they became more animated and energised. They could feel the difference in the level of showmanship and now 5 years later we have a group of 10 who could perform any where. Professionally as well.

As I said I am so proud of them all. They took on my vision for the show and brand new direction and ran with it and now groups are falling over themselves to book us. It is just great.

It was a great way to finished off the first 6 months and what a fabulous 6 months it has been.

Lovely to hear your season went so well and that all are stepping up and making improvements to enhance the feedback loop with the audiences. Well deserved and nourishing break to you!
