Wednesday 01/29/14 in Lady Loves the Ocean

Well, I was surprised to see OD is closing. Of course we all thought it might but it's still sad. I have been writing over there since 2006. I have friends I hope will make the move so I can keep up with them. I see a few have. Gray Tabby, Lola F. Happy to see you. I am not sure how often I will write here. I had slacked over at OD. So I guess time will tell.

I do have a lot more free time on my hands. My last day on the job was December 2, 2013. So I am job less. 18 years down the drain. I have a severance package that runs until July sometime. I have put some applications out there already. But now I am going to have to hold off for awhile. I went to see a neurologist for problems I have been having with my foot. He ordered an MRI for next week. He said the numbness and pain is coming from my back. I had an episode back on Mother's Day 2013 that put me in the hospital with my back for 4 days. I had an epidural injection then to be able to come home. It helped a bit at the time. I eventually had two more trying to get the pressure off the sciatic nerve. I never obtained complete feeling in my foot. The doctors just said give it some time. Well, it's been 8 months now. I told the doctor I want my life back. I can't stand or walk for any length of time. I am tired of limping. So finally she sent me to a neurologist. And he ordered the EMG. And now the MRI. He said it won't get any better without surgery. So here we go. So I will see after the MRI is done. And everyone gives their opinion. I certainly don't want surgery. But I certainly don't want to remain like this for the rest of my life. So we will see where that goes.

I am not sure I like this new place. It is going to take some getting used too. Change always does don't it. Seems like my life is going through a lot of changes lately.

I am going to stop here. I want to get comfy with my book before I fall asleep.
