I swear we haven't had as much snow as we have this winter for many , many years. This winter is reminiscent of the winters in my teen yrs., the 70's. I can remember not being able to open the doors on the house and Dad chucking me out a window to shovel our way into the door. The car was totally buried in the drive and we took our ski- doos through the streets to help elderly and ill people get what they needed. In the middle of it my next door neighbor went into labor and we had to get the snow plow to come get her. Imagine, birthing in the cab of a plow, not the big roomy truck type of today. This was more like a road grader with a single seat cab. She made it to hosp. though, the plow driver must have been praying all the way that he wouldn't have to help her birth. lol Funny now but it was very scary then, she was premature and we didn't think the baby would live. Oh well, these days we don't get storms quite that bad and the plows are bigger with roomy cabs, better emergency vehicles as well. Now if we call the emergency number we get fire trucks, police cars and an ambulance, then we got a road grader and maybe a ski-doo. The storm today has been pretty quiet so far, no wind at all so the flakes are just falling strait down and the trees are pretty and white. We are supposed to get 15-20 cent. which isn't too hard to deal with, enough for snowman building and sledding so the kids will be happy! I'm going to curl up with a good book, put a log on the fire, have a lovely cup of something hot and listen to some soft music. Yeah!!! My type of snow day! Ta Ta
