Busy in Trying to stay one step ahead

The last few days have been hectic but good. We celebrated my granddaughters’ birthday a day late but that seems to be the way it is . We were working around her grandfathers’ golf and her younger brothers baseball games. We had supper went to the baseball game and then had cake and ice cream and she opened her cards. Presents of choice cash. She is going shopping with a friend and then to supper in lieu of a party.
Both dogs got a bath today. The Newf went to a groomer and I did the other one so I am not their favourite person right now. The Newf also got shaved except her head and tail . I know you shouldn’t shave them and her coat may never be the same but it is easier on her. We are looking at her quality of life now and she doesn’t have the strength to stand up to be cut for any length of time or to sit under hot fans. I will give her extra pain medication tonight as she has arthritis in her back and hopefully she will be OK tomorrow.
I have to figure out what to give my mother for Mothers Day. It is so hard when they get older and don’t really need anything but flowers seems like a cop out. Any suggestions would be nice.
