Well, today life turned for the better! :)
After work, I stopped by the Chamber of Commerce to talk to my dear friend and ask her if she would take engagement photos of Terry and myself in April when he's here! She said she would love to! So then I told her where I wanted us to get married and she asked if we were going to need to rent it. Well, that hit me in the head! I headed home after our chat and talked to Terry about it.
Let me back track just a few...when he was here, which was from Jan 3-21, he had asked me during one of our cuddling times if I'd marry him! I said yes, of course! No ring was there or anything, we were just talking about it and he asked me and I said yes! So fast forward to last week after he had to go back to GA. We were talking on Facebook and I asked him if it would be okay if I started planning our wedding! He said he had NO problem with that AT ALL! Yay!! So I got our book out and started to write things down! Getting a little bit organized at a time.
Fast forward to today...I mentioned to Terry that we need to set a date in order to rent the bridge and I told him a couple days ago about how Sept 13 feels like the right day. I have complete peace in my heart about that day! So we're getting married September 13, 2014! I'm calling in the morning about renting the bridge! It's going to be SO beautiful!!!!!
I have my maid of honor and bridesmaids. Terry has his two groomsmen (my brothers) and we're waiting on the best man. It will either be his friend or Jack, who loves him and says he's VERY good for me! Thanks Jack! hehe I have my cake picked out. I have dresses in mind. Terry will get fitted for his tux in April. We'll have our photos taken then and he'll be able to see the bridge where we'll become one! :) We'll also go and register at places for my bridal shower and our wedding. That will be fun! I told him that our days will more than likely be busy, but the evenings are for just him and me! :) We both liked the sound of that! We'll also do the rings while he's here! Pick them out etc. :) I had posted something on Facebook about being invited or just getting an invite to know about the wedding and a very dear friend who is a huge supporter of me and my music, offered to do the sound as a gift to us. I about cried! I asked him what that entailed since I have never done this before and he said, "Rehearsal. Ceremony. Reception. DJ." I really just about cried with that! Had I gone with my friend Todd, that would have been $500. Now it's a gift to us! I feel very blessed!! I have my cake maker! I've known her since grade school! She loves the cakes and is very excited to do it for us!!! All I have to pay for that is the gum paste and fondant! But I plan on giving her more if it's not very much! It's a big job! It will be a big enough cake to feed 200. Terry and I will also taste test cake and frosting in April! I concluded with Terry and said, "So just to get this straight. We're getting married September 13, 2014 and if you're not fully moved here by then, I'll go back to GA with you?" He said, "Of course!" THAT made me VERY happy!!! He told me later that he planned on renting a car while I'm there so we don't have to stay at the house all the time. Which will be great! I have ZERO desire to meet his dad. And I want Terry to be able to move away and have the life he deserves as soon as possible.
One thing I can say that is very wonderful about his and my relationship...we have a very solid and firm foundation of communication. We took 6.5 months to build it and it is awesome. I told Karen that I made the decision that I would NOT stuff ANYTHING in this relationship. If it bothers me, I'm talking about it!!! And Terry is more than okay with that. We take the night time to talk and if I need to cry, then I cry and he holds me. I have a very tender heart and he knows this. I apologize for crying and he always tells me it's not necessary. He just hugs me tighter.
So...plans are moving forward! Sometimes when it's quiet, I stop and think, "This is really happening! I'm REALLY getting married!!! I'm REALLY planning our wedding!!! I get to marry my BEST FRIEND!!!!" Happy Sigh!
Well, meds are kicking in and I wanted to get a quick list made for my MOH for the bridal shower! It's not for a while, but it keeps me busy! I may keep that till tomorrow! We'll see!
