The way things fall in Wholly linked

I never, she never, we never looked back
That wasn’t what we were good at
and when it came to love
we were not good enough

For some time now I’ve thought the point to life was that there really wasn’t a point. The only thing that drives us forward is what makes us such an awful species.

I want us to be about that random feeling when you’re laying down to go to sleep and a face crosses your mind that brings an ease to your distress, even just for a moment.

That is not what we are though, we’re rules and posturing that ends in nothing but destruction. We are what’s wrong with the world. No matter how right we make us, we’ll always be the thing that is ruining the song. So much potential for beauty and we waste it on privilege. I hope that someday the world gets to just be, without us trying to make it what we think it should be.
