THREE THINGS

  1. We saw a pilated woodpecker fly low across a road with two lanes of traffic. It crossed over the first lane, but then at the second lane, middle of the road, it hit the oncoming driver's side (top of car) and then wounded lifted up and manage to fly to the grassy side of the road. The underside of the woodpecker's wings, so startlingly white, the flash of its red stay with me. Tragic. Very heavy traffic...we didn't stop.

  2. I am going to repot a huge 30 year old plant on the back porch after I write this. Our nightblooming epi.

  3. It is increasingly nerve-wracking waiting to get Kermit's biopsy done. He'll have pain pills, other meds and stitches on the underside of his tongue. If cancerous, the photos of tongue cancer are so unsetting I don't want him to see them.
