February felt like Springtime down here. We had some 70 degree days and flower trees were in full blossom! It was hard to believe this was happening in February! Then March arrived and it got cold, and it stayed cold! So we all were definitely reminded that it wasn’t really Springtime yet. :o) But today is officially the first day of Spring, and it’s a lot warmer than it was last week, PLUS unlike most of last week it has been a beautiful sunny day.
Of course I got to spend the day at work, but my co-worker Dee let us all know that she has counted and we only have FIFTY-ONE days left ‘til summer vacation! I think we’ll make it!
Over the weekend Joe & I went with Sister Sandy car shopping. She didn’t want to go on her own, because her husband Chuck used to do the car-buying, at least the “wheeling and dealing” part of it. And why should she brave anything on her own that she doesn’t feel comfortable with when we are right here? Guess what? She got the exact same car that we have!…a white Subaru Legacy with beige interior, only hers is brand-new and ours is several years old. And she has gifted our son Joey with her 2005 Subaru Outback, and he (and we) are so very thankful. We all got together for pizza Saturday night to celebrate everyone’s new cars!
Sunday I did almost nothing except take Sister Carol out to lunch after her church service. She’s been feeling under-the-weather all month so far, but she is slowly getting back to rights. She and Sandy are not speaking to each other still, and I am not going to do a darn thing to get them back together. Heck, I am the youngest sister; they are both in their seventies. They ought to have learned how to get along by now. But I love them both and will just do things with them separately if they can’t patch things up between them. All it takes are two things: the ability to apologize and the ability to be gracious in accepting an apology. Neither of them can do either thing, and it’s sad.
This afternoon I had some time to myself! Joe took Guinness to the vet for his annual checkup and shots. :o) I enjoyed the hour of alone time!
Now to get up and get supper on the table; the day is almost done and soon I will be flopped on the couch RESTING!
