Today I was so proud of my son. We were taking a walk & there was a lady on a park bench. She looked very upset and I saw her but choose not to confront her. It wasn’t comfortable for me and after all “she wouldn’t want a stranger talking to her anyways.” But not Steven. He gave her one of his melt your heart smiles, waved, said Hi and offered her a chance to share his ball (this is quite an honor, it is his favorite). She gave him a big smile and confided in me that she was having a terrible day but that his small act of kindness truly made a difference. He “talked” to her a little more and they played a short game of catch (his version). She left us smiling.

It was a small act of kindness & love on his part and it made a difference. At 1 years old, he made a difference. To her and I bet, to the people she meets today. His act of love started a ripple affect. He saw a need & he filled it. It didn’t take extraordinary effort or money. Love is invaluable especially now when HATE is trying so hard to win.

Today I’m going to try and be more like him.
