January 27th in 2014

it's already a fabulous day in los angeles. sun is shining, i'm 1 cup of caffeine into the day and working on another. but it's MONDAY. so there's work to be done.

we had a great weekend. i can't remember exactly what we did friday, but i do remember busting out the laptop after joaquin went to bed and getting work done so i wouldn't have to think about it over the weekend. that was a very good decision. because i didn't think about work so much this weekend. although, i have been thinking about work a lot, but it's more in the sense of - what am i doing and what SHOULD i be doing? it's almost been three years since i left the corporate world and entered into this haphazard way of life called "running your own business." it's been successful on many levels. but in some ways, i feel like i'm constantly chasing my tail. i need to sort things out. maybe i'll write more on this later.

saturday, we went to the gym and i ran 6.35 miles and it felt great. we came home, showered, tried to put joaquin down for a nap, but he refused, so we went to our friends' BBQ with a unnapped toddler. thankfully, he was mostly a good boy, and there were two 3-month olds there and (you know how they can be) so it was nicely chaotic all around. overall, it was lovely and joaquin did have a great time.

sunday joaquin had a playdate with his buddy jasper and they enjoyed parallel play and even some interactive play and it was just plain cute. joaquin is a very funny, clever and thoughtful kid. he never ceases to surprise and delight me. he also manages to push my patience to the outer limits, and this is something i am working on forever for the rest of my life. patience. i needz it!

anyway, i was going to write more and i started this entry 5 hours ago and work has inevitably side-tracked me so back to it i go. happy monday, bitches.
