Suddenly We Become Evening People! in A New Beginning

Wednesday after Joe’s after-work nap, we drove up to Dover to go to the crafts store and get some stuff Joe needed for a project he was making for his coven’s Imbolc ritual. It had been a Killer of a Day at work, so I was happy to get fast food supper while we were out.
Thursday evening Joe stayed home, but I went to my coven’s Dark Moon ritual. I just hate going out on workweek evenings, but I am glad I went. There were only four of us there, and I felt so much love for me in the room. They are really glad I’ve decided to come back!
This evening after supper, Joe decided he needed one more thing for his project (which has to be done by tomorrow), so we went to the Walmart. As we were turning into the parking lot, he made the comment, “Gee, look at us, out in the evening! It seems odd, doesn’t it? We never go out in the evening!”
Yea, we rarely do, but we sure seem to be on a roll this week! ;o)
My sisters are still being weird to each other. I wrote about this a few entries back. The more I think about it, the more I actually can understand Sandy’s point of view. Not that Sandy has even said anything to me about it, mind you! I’ve gotten the whole story from Carol, about how Sandy insisted they be at the gym right when it opens every morning, at 8 o’clock, and Carol said, “Well you go ahead on your own then. I’ll be along a little later.”
And so every day this past week, Sandy (having been told to go on to the gym) has been there when it opens, and Carol has shown up....not more than ten minutes later! I’m thinking, “Sis, if you can be there at 8:10, you COULD be there at 8, just for the sake of going TOGETHER.” She couldn’t be bothered to adjust her schedule by ten minutes. It’s not like she’s still working or something; my sisters are both retired. But Carol IS very much a “my way or the highway” kind of gal....much as I love her, I must say, she IS; Sandy’s right about that!
Anyhow, it isn’t any fun trying to do something with two people who are hardly speaking, so this weekend I’m doing sisters separately. This afternoon I stopped to visit Caro, on my way home from work. Tomorrow, since Joe is going to a ritual with his coven, Sandy and I are going on an outing. Carol has her daughter Stef home tomorrow and they’ll probably do something together. Sandy only has us. Her son comes to spend a couple days with her every few months, but he lives four hours away.
I tell you, I will be damn glad to get my injection on March 3rd, because I am getting to be pretty damn sore. I refer to it as “being so damn sore, I just wanna kick someone right in the ass,” because that’s how it is, exactly. But I have a very weird sense of humor I guess, because it makes me laugh. Or I should say, when I am reeeeeally sore, I get really crotchety and say things in this deep surly voice, and it strikes me as funny and I laugh. That is a really great gift, being able to make oneself laugh, because honestly, it has a sedative effect, kinda like demerol. I still feel the pain but I don’t really care about it.
I AM GETTING A WALKING CANE THIS YEAR. Not an ugly metal one but a nice fancy carved wooden one. We have a number of people in The Assembly that use them, and I think it looks ever so distinguished. :o)
Welp, it will be my bedtime soon; right now it’s couch-time. I hope you have a lovely weekend! I am so glad the weekend is finally here!

I was thinking about getting one of those distinguished looking British ones... and ended up having to use a white one. Have no idea how that looks :-)

those nice wooden canes are awsome,

it's hard when family is not getting along well but I am glad you will be able to see both your sisters separately, I can't wait to see my sister in March!!!

have a great weekend!!!

I have been using a cane since 1970 and I now have four pretty ones and one sturdy ugly mental one! I love the idea of a wooden one! Even though I have a one-bedroom apartment, I am ALWAYS mislaying my canes!

Here I am again! patrisha ⋅ January 28, 2017

I bid on my first cane on EBay today, Patrisha! I remember reading your entries on OD back when you started using your canes. I might have to get more than one, too, because I OFTEN mislay things!
