Coldest House in the World, maybe! in A New Beginning

Damn, this is a cold house. But this is a First World Problem. It’s not cold because we have no heat. It’s cold because a miser lives here, who never wants to turn the heat up. And the miser is ME. Welllllllllll, our heat thermostat goes up to 70 between the hours of 5 and 8 a.m. and 5 and 8 p.m.; the rest of the time we set it at 60. Joe (a delicate flower, I tease him) just turns it UP when he is home and gets cold. But no me. I rarely turn it up. I figure, I can put on warmer clothes or I can turn on my little space heater. Or I can lie under a blanket or two, if I’m watching tv! But I don’t want to spend ALL our money on the heat bill during these winter months!
I am pleased and proud of myself for a small accomplishment today. This afternoon I called my physician/anesthesiologist and scheduled my next epidural injection for March 3rd, less than a week before Joe & I go to our annual “getaway,” a four-day metaphysical conference at the Hunt Valley Inn in Hunt Valley, Maryland. I wasn’t getting injections yet last March, and I did not have nearly as good a time as I would’ve liked to have because I was so damn sore. But this year I plan on making up for it!! :o) !! I am going to attend every class and workshop I want to attend, and ENJOY IT, too, with no having to get up and down, up and down because my ass or my leg are hurting. And I’ve looked at the schedule and picked out everything I want to go to…many times!! :o) !!
The last time my BFF Wendy was over, we got to laughing about the people in our spiritual community who practically abjure taking modern medicines. Their go-to remedy for colds is ELDERBERRY TINCTURE and they swear by turmeric for “inflammation,” which is their catch-all term for arthritis, spinal stenosis, anything like that. But the thing is....THEY’RE ALWAYS SICK!!!!! I feel like telling them, “Why do you think people used to DIE OF THINGS MORE OFTEN, back when all there was to take was herbs and whatnot??” I’m highly in favor of taking modern medicine, personally. I’ve taken Elderberry syrup, tincture, what-have-you, and it’s done nothing for me! And I like the taste of turmeric so much that I put it on practically everything! But guess what? I still take daily tylenol, get quarterly injections, and use ample BioFreeze!
I gotta say, I vowed to keep an open mind after the presidential election, and just stay informed. But I have to say, the news has been scary and I do not see things as looking good at all. The way his press people lie and then tell us they’re just “stating alternative facts” especially. sigh But things have been down before. :o(
It is taking me a long time to get this entry written! I was going to finish it yesterday evening after Jeopardy, while Joe watched NCIS, but I was just so sleepy I decided the best thing for me was to go to bed. And I did have a wonderful sleep! I can’t add any more to this now, though, because darn if I don’t have to go to work!! I’m wishing all of us a great day!

I am glad you had a good sleep, it's so important and we all so often don't give it enough attention,
people are big into birchbarch syrup here, the magical health elixir lol,
I do hope you enjoy your getaway more this time, chronic pain sucks,
and your politics down there are scary these days, I am amazed though at how much people are up in arms, there really is only so much he can screw up,
have a great day!!!
