Shedding the Twits in Day by Day

It amazes me that the extreme right, instead of being happy with a Trump win, continues to spew ugliness near and far, with wild suppositions and name calling, which might be interesting except they tend to sound like a broken record. Over the weekend, I:

  1. Read complaints about criticism of Trump’s son, yet these are the same persons who had nothing but hateful comments about Obama’s daughters.
  2. Was shocked that they think Trump’s pussy-grabbing ways are okay but Bill’s penchant for cigars is not.
  3. Was amused they criticize Obamacare, yet walk around on knee replacements PAID IN FULL with said help.
  4. Was disgusted that they spout that feminism is bad, yet reap its rewards.
  5. Read a hypocritical settlement for continuing a loveless marriage in order to stay wealthy yet criticize women trying to make it on their own.
  6. Couldn’t believe they think their opinion on the economy is important when they cannot balance a checkbook to save their soul.

They are as hypocritical and thin-skinned as our twitter-addict-in-chief. I just don’t care to interact with any of them from here on out. I know I should be patient and loving and reach out and try to love them, but I just can’t. Their lack of empathy for others turns me off. I don’t want that sort of negativity in my force field. So I’ve chosen to drift away. They are dried up in spirit and a waste of what little time I have on earth. I choose to pour my energy into a more productive approach. That means shedding those I see as Negative Nellies. That will hurt feelings, but it comes down to a choice: my energy or their need to wallow in anger and self-pity.

Moving on today to work on non-profit compliance with the State, pages for the matching funds drive, and finalizing lease renewal, all projects that will result in positive outcomes.

Oh! And I am LOVING the look of the tile I chose for the bathroom remodel! I meant to take before/after pics but I’m strapped for time, so you’ll get the after shots when we’re done.

The January/February edition of the Smithsonian is quite interesting. Does anyone else read it? If so, I’d be interested in your thoughts about the incarceration article.

Life's too short to waste it on ppl who make you miserable.

ConnieK GypsyWynd ⋅ January 24, 2017

They don't make me miserable...it's just that they're wasting my time. I cannot have an open-minded conversation with someone who is locked into their hate, so I'm choosing to walk away.

Ferret Mom January 24, 2017

Yes, I keep having conversations with friends about these types of things we see with the Trump supporters.

ConnieK Ferret Mom ⋅ January 24, 2017

My problem is they never, ever address their hypocrisy.

Shattered January 24, 2017

Hence why I'm tight lipped when it comes to politics and religion.

ConnieK Shattered ⋅ January 24, 2017

I think we should stand up to injustice whenever it occurs. I also think if you really want TRUE unity, you should seek forgiveness first. I'm offended when people find posters depicting the president and his family as monkeys amusing. I'm offended with the "haha, we won" attitude when just before the election, I wrote that no matter who won, we should show respect. I'm offended that they felt free to call me a "socialist" yet are just fine with being cozy with the Russians. I'm offended by my own nephew who accused me of having an "East Coast philosophy". As opposed to WHAT? His midwest farmboy barely graduated ignorance? No, I didn't say that, but I was stunned by the open racism, the embracing of ignorance, and the sheeple adoration of a man who has obviously cheated and flim flammed his way to wealth.

They want unity after 8 years of obstructionism. Give. Me. A Break. MAYBE when they humbly apologize. They will. After the next recession.

I wholeheartedly agree. I didn't care for Obama and I don't care for Trump or Hillary either. At this point it's making the best of who we've got and changing it in four years.

ConnieK Shattered ⋅ January 25, 2017

I loved Obama. I think the history books will be far kinder to him than the GOP propaganda machine. My company and my friends fare better under Democrats. Republicans now just start wars and recessions out of greed. I have zero respect for the party.

My co-worker gets the smithsonian, will ask her if I can take a look at it when she is finished.

ConnieK QueenSuzu ⋅ January 24, 2017

I'll be interested in hearing your take.
