Well, it’s a frosty day here, in the upper eighties. We had a couple of chilly days, but apparently winter isn’t coming here until closer to February.
Paxton, the young lady shot Christmas Eve, is out of intensive care and in a regular room. She has been receiving visitors and for the most part is staying positive.
All the grandchildren are well, and I’m anxiously awaiting number 9 any time now.
Brandon was finally sworn in federally yesterday. He is now the first peace office in Texas history to have local, federal, and tribal authority to enforce the law. The first ever endorsed by the Federal Bureau of Indian affairs. That’s my son guys, I raised that!
I’m so proud of him I could burst. In his typical manner he shrugs and says, “It’s not a big deal”.
His mother would be so incredibly proud if she were here. He’s been turning down press interviews, Cheryl, would have been scheduling them!
Anyway, enough bragging. It’s time for me to go back to jail for the day and see what new excitement awaits. Y’all have a great weekend.

Hey! I'm an old OD-refugee myself. Luckily I was able to retrieve most of my entries, if not all.
Don't know where you're located, but I'm a Texan too and it's pretty damned warm where I am as well. Much appreciated after the temps dipping down into the low 20s the other night.
Congrats on your son's accomplishment. He may shrug it off, but what a big deal it is! I know you're proud. And good for you for giving yourself some credit for raising him that way!
