So Monday I fouled my back up again after staging my deliveries in the dock, and after speaking to the manager, I went straight to the urgent care clinic up the street. I've got a "thorasic sprain", which amounts to I've tweaked my shoulder blade and several attached muscles. No damage to any bones, discs, or joints, which was my primary fear. The doctor is covered by work. I went back today on severely restricted duty. As in I'm not allowed to lift... well.. pretty much anything, no bending or twisting, avoid using my right hand (which is a pain because I'm right handed), basically clerical work. On a side note, I put a note on my public Facebook page, that I wanted to change jobs, and got a reply almost immediately from someone in that field who is in need of one more person. I'm hoping this goes through, because at this point, I don't even want to stay with the current company. The perks are great, but the job itself is not something I should be doing. I enjoy getting out, being physically active, but my body is not meant to carry 300+ Lb appliances, even if we're using 2-person carry straps. The funny part was that my manager was helping me get a "sell first" list together, and she had to move one of the heavier washing machines that we sell, and found out how heavy they are, as I can't push, pull, or lift anything over 10Lbs. She looked at me and said "I can't believe you guys have to move these things!" I smirked and said "you should try the (brand name) 28 Cu Ft french door fridges into a split level house." I think the point got across.
