Tradition

This is a star that we hide around the house every evening in Decemeber then everyone else in the house has to find it the next day. On Christmas Eve we put it on the tree. I saw the idea in a child’s book years ago and adopted it as a tradition in our house. #2 hides it most of the time now and this year the kids were busier than ever so it didn’t get found every day and didn’t get on the tree until Christmas night but it’s still fun. #4 says she wants this star to continue the tradition with her future family.

And another one just to show a dessert I made for last night’s turkey dinner here with my sis using my new stemless wine glasses. I wanted them just so I could make these pretty desserts. I plan to make a lemon layered dessert in them for New Year’s.

Those desserts look delicious.

They were but a bit rich for me so I gave some of mine to my 14 year old son. He was thrilled! If I hadn't of eaten so much of the main meal I would have enjoyed it more. :)

My brother brought a couple cakes that were too rich for me... a couple bites and I'm done. Which is good cause I'm a diabetic! LOL

I remember Christmases that looked like that. And the dessert looks really yummy.

Thanks. I will hate the days when/if Christmas becomes quiet and neat!

That first pic reminds me of my house when the kids were little! So much time spent carefully wrapping, and then it all ends up in pieces on the floor! lol
Love the star idea. Great tradition to start with my grandson!

I love that star tradition. I need to try and remember that one for next year, Pooter will have fun with it.

It's been great fun for us and easier than Elf on a Shelf!
