Getting Older in Trying to stay one step ahead

I have never spent too much time worrying about getting older I guess I just figured it would take care of itself. Funny how things change in a day, I have mentioned on here that my mom who lives with us is 90. She is doing pretty good and so far we are coping but I don't know if I mentioned she has a twin sister who lives in the states. The thing is her sister is in the hospital and the doctor wants to have her put in a nursing home. That is fine I guess if you have money but what happens if you have none? She has spent her life working and her son has managed to spend every cent she has made. Does the USA have any kind of help for people like this and for that matter does Canada? Something to look into I guess.
